With the inventory of homes for sale at record lows in Washington, many buyers struggle to find their dream home. New homeowners Tyana and Spencer looked for over two years to find their place to call home. Fortunately, they received a lucky tip from a friend and had the help of their trusted RE/MAX Town Center Real Estate Agent, Debbie Lindsey. Today, Tyana and Spencer spend their days thinking about home improvement projects rather than if they will be able to find a home at all.
How long did they search?
Two years ago, Tyana and Spencer were renting a Kirkland apartment. Tyana is a surgical technician at a Bellevue hospital, and Spencer works in water management for the City of Seattle Water Inspector in North Bend. They were concerned that they could not afford anything in the Seattle and Bellevue metro areas. Plus, the long commute from North Bend to Kirland was wearing on Spencer.
"We always wanted to live in a cabin in the woods, but we didn't think we'd actually get one."
What was the turning point?
Tyana and Spencer searched high and low for two years for a home. So many of the homes they looked at were either not in their price range, a style they didn't like, or in an area not convenient for relocation. Then a co-worker of Spencer's gave them a tip. The friend knew that his neighbor in Cle Elum was thinking of selling their home. The problem was how do you purchase a home where the owner has not listed it for sale? Fortunately for Tyana and Spencer, they already started working with RE/MAX Town Center Agent Debbie Lindsey. Debbie contacted the seller and coordinated the entire process. She worked in the best interest of both parties to create a successful transaction.
"Debbie was able to teach us and walk us through the entire process. We want to recommend her to everyone."
What does the future hold?
Since purchasing their A-frame home in Cle Elum, the couple married in a ceremony on their new porch. Spencer is much happier with his commute. They added one dog, one cat, a rabbit, and nine chickens to the cat and dog they already had. They plan one day to have goats and other animals as well. With all that livestock, they are already thinking of upgrading to a larger home and property. They know that when they start looking, their first call will be to Debbie.
