Meet Heidi & Matt

Condo owners Heidi and Matt were looking to upgrade from their condo to purchasing their first house. Home buying during the COVID pandemic could be a daunting task. How did they do it? They mixed their naturally optimistic attitude with help from their most trusted real estate agent, the couple were determined to make their dream home a reality.

For fun-loving Matt & Heidi, 2020 is a year of changes. Like many people, their jobs had them pivoting through the COVID pandemic. Matt, a career teacher currently teaching third grade, moved his entire curriculum online. Heidi, a manager at Instacart, witnessed an explosion in her delivery business as shoppers' habits of going to the store for groceries moved online. Why not add selling their condo and purchasing the first home to the mix? 


Looking for a community.

They always wanted a comfortable ranch-style house to call home and were awestruck when they toured their future home for the first time. Even though the square footage was not much different than their condo, buying a house with a yard and a deck felt like a massive expansion to space. 

While they loved their condo, Matt & Heidi didn't feel connected to their neighbors, nor did they feel like they had space to invite friends over entertaining. After moving during the summer, Matt instantly connected with the community as he had free time in the summer due to his summer break from teaching. Heidi said that she was surprised but pleased when, within the first week, neighbors were calling out to Matt by name. They had finally found their community!

A Realtor for life: Nicole Blondin

To get assistance in purchasing their dream ranch home, Matt and Heidi knew the one they would trust to help them: RE/MAX Town Center's Nicole Blondin. Nicole helped them with their condo purchase in 2011, and they liked her so much that they have referred Nicole to other family members. When asked why they like to work with Nicole, the couple explained three qualities:

1. Nicole is honest. She doesn't just want to sell a house; she wants to match the house to the buyer. "She points out the good and the bad," said Heidi.

2. She builds a one-on-one relationship. "She might be working with ten people at once, but she makes you feel like you are that one person," said Matt.

3. It's clear she loves her job. This love is evident in the way she shows houses. "She loves doing it, and it makes it fun, " said Heidi.

 

"When we work with her Nicole, she is really warm and easy to talk to. She is approachable and puts you at ease."
